Manicure Monday | Fruits On My Nails

heyy girls,

this Manicure Monday is going to be very quick because I'm drowning into school work right now. You might think that I am being a bit dramatic, but I assure you that I am not. I am so stressed out this time around, especially when I look at my planning for the next three weeks...
What I like to do when I'm stressed is catching up on my favorite Tv Shows while painting my nails. Right now, I am obsessed with Hart Of Dixie, Arrow and The Originals. So Saturday night, I was freaking out when I saw that I almost accomplished nothing school related that day. So I just decided to put nailpolish while watching an episode of a Tv Show that for some reason I can't remember which one it was, but that's not the point. Basically, I didn't only paint my nails that night, but I've also cut them.

So, now you might think: "Wow, you're being so dramatic over the fact that you've cut your nails." Well, you're maybe right, but from someone who swears by only filling their nail (aka me), it is a big move.

But anyway, all that drama moment was to warn you that my nails are shorter and that my skin around them is very dry because I'm stressed. And when I'm stressed, I'm picking my cuticles and all. Gross, I know!

Haul | Spring Inspiration

heyy girls,

last weekend I went to the drugstore with one of my friends and I bought some stuff. It isn't much, but I was very excited about what I bought that day. I got a bunch of magazines and some beauty products. I hope you'll enjoy reading this quick post even though it's not very long and detailed...

The first beauty item that I got is the Pacific Blue nailpolish from Sally Handsen. It is just a beautiful true ocean blue color. It was also very inexpensive and I bought it because I've heard that those Xtreme Wear nailpolishes are amazing. Of course, their shade selection isn't as great as Essie, but it's okay.

Next, I finally bought the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15. I've already bought this product before, but in a darker shade that unfornately didn't match me most of the time (it was alright during the end of summer when I had a tan). I might do a review later if it ends up being my favorite concealer of all time ;)

Manicure Monday | Flip Flop Fantasy

heyy girls,

last week I wrote a Manicure Monday about easy nail arts that I think would be very cute for Spring. I really wanted to try doing an ombre nail effect, but I didn't have the material needed (like makeup sponges... I can't find mine). So, instead, I've decided to show you a color that I've been dying to wear during the last few weeks. Ladies & Gentlemen, let me introduce you to... China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. **Unfortunately, my camera didn't pick up the color well**

My camera didn't pick up well the coral neon color that this nailpolish has. It looks almost like a pale orange, but in reality it's so bright and summery. I'll put pictures that I took with my Iphone for you to have an idea of what it looks like. Sorry for the picture quality.

Fashion Friday | Prom Lookbook

heyy girls,

prom season is coming very soon where I leave and I decided to do an entire post dedicated to it. I don't know about you but I LOVE looking at prom dresses or just more formal dresses on Pinterest. For this post, I partnered up with the brand Bonobos to show you what type of suit your boyfriend could wear with the prom dress that you chose. I hope you'll find that post helpful and inspirational! By the way, all the dresses that I am going to show you today are on my Pinterest, you click here to have direct access. So, yeah...let's get started!

Prom Look #1
This first look is very fresh looking while still being glamorous at the same time. As you can see, the dress has some metallic pieces on the top section and it has some cut-outs as well. The bottom section (we'll call it that way because I don't know the terms for that section) is very flowy and soft with its very light pink color.

As for the suit go, I recommend going with a light color one, like this suit from Bonobos. Again, it goes very well with our fresh and young looking look that we're looking for. Of course, not everyone is daring enough to wear a cream color suit but I really think that this kind of color is perfect with pale color dresses. Also, I don't think that a black suit would be the best for complimenting that kind of dress.

Prom Look #2
For this second look, I went with something a little more simple for the dress. This A-line type of dress looks good on anyone and is very easy to accessorise since there isn't much details except for the fabric design on the top part of the dress. The sweetheart neckline is also very flattering for most women.

Review | NYX Love In Rio Eyeshadow Trio

heyy girls,

today I am going to review one of the new NYX eyeshadow trios that they came out with recently. I got it in an Ipsy bag (I can't remember which one) from last month or maybe the month before last month. Seriously, I can't remember but that's not the point. The point is that I have been using this trio for a couple of weeks now and I am now ready to give you my honest opinion about the NYX Love In Rio Eyeshadow Trio in Segredos De Giselle (yes, that's the name of the trio that I got).

The packaging
At first, I had trouble opening the little palette. I don't know why but it didn't want to open. Of course, I broke a nail trying to open the palette (the usual, you know). But, I finally did it and I was very happy about the quality of the packaging. It is very sturdy and doesn't feel cheap at all. I was very impressed. It came with the usual sponge tips applicator that I never use, but you know, it's still nice to have it, just in case.

Manicure Monday | Spring Inspiration

heyy girls,

I realised last night that I painted my nails a color that I've already shown here (Essie Under Where?), so I've decided today to show you something a little bit different than what I usualy do. I am going to show you Spring nail arts that I found on blogs and on Pinterest, and that I think is cute and easy to do. Easy. Yeah, you read it well. I want to share with you easy Spring nail arts because let's be honest, not everyone is super talented in nail art. I know that I'm not (but I wish I was). I can't be alone in my situation, right?

Ombre nails
I've never tried doing ombre nails before but it doesn't look that difficult... I mean I will surely missed my first tries but that's okay ;) I love this green to light blue ombre nails tough!

 Color blocking
Now, you might be thinking: "But Isabelle, I will never be able to acheive a perfect ombre nail art". Well, I thought about it and yes, there are easier nail arts that I can show you. So here it is: the color blocking nail art! You simply go over you current nailpolish with another color and TADAMM! You have your fabulous color blocking nail art. It's as easy as that.

Stripes
Please tell me that I'm not the only who thinks of Victoria Secrets when I look at this picture. I just thought it looked easy to recreate and so girly! I love it!

Glitter accent nails
Of course, you don't have to recreate this exact same look, you can only put a glittery top coat over one of your nails and you'll be good to go. I just love the chunky glitters over the glittery nailpolish. It just looks so classy and glam!

Please tell me in the comment section which nail art you want me to recreate!

Review: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

Heyy girls,

today I'm back with a review. I'm going to be reviewing a product that had been on my wish list for a long time. Like, everytime I walked into a Sephora, I had to swatch it, then I walked away, came back and swatched it again... And finally one day I ask the Sephora lady to color matched me and I bought it. Now, you might be thinking: " Better late than never"... I could not agree more with you! But, yeah...today I'm going to review the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Chantilly.

The packaging
The packaging is very sleek and classy. I love Nars packaging anyway, so for me I knew that I wouldn't have any problem with it. The applicator is just perfect and it helps applying your concealer with precision.

The consistency
It has a very light consistency compared to other concealer with the same coverage. Like the name of it says, it is very creamy and it is easily blendable. But, sometimes, if you have very dry undereyes, it can settle into fine lines or dryness underneath your eyes if you're not careful. You can also use this  all over your face, but for me it didn't work  well because during this time of year I have dry skin. I just don't like the look of concealer/foundation on my dry skin.

Manicure Monday | Give Me Some Blueberries

heyy girls,

today I'm very excited to share with you a new brand of nailpolish that I've never tried before. I wasn't able to find that brand in stores, so I ordered online on FTB Beauty, a canadian online retailer. This week nailpolish is from the brand...(drum rolls)... Barry M! I know what you might be thinking right now: " Barry M has been around for a while now, why haven't you tried that brand earlier? " Well, shipping from Europe to Canada is crazy expensive! #canadianproblems

I don't know if you can tell by the past Manicure Mondays but blue is my favorite color ;) I didn't even planned on wearing blue nailpolish 3 weeks in a row, but oh well! Also, please excuse my dry fingers! I cannot wait for Summer to come...

Monthly Favorites | March 2014

heyy girls,

today I'm back with my monthly favorites for the month of March! Yeah! I don't know about you but this month didn't go by quickly at all. Seriously, it was the longest month ever. AND we had a lot of snowstorms this month; everytime with felt like Spring was coming in it had to snow... Let me tell you that I am sick of Winter and you might have seen it in my Manicure Monday posts recently, where I've been only showing pastel colors. So, yeah, back to the topic of monthly favorites; this month has been a good month in term of finding new products.

This month, I've been loving my Stay Matte powder from Rimmel as a setting powder for my undereye area. It is just so lightweight and it helps my concealer stays on longer. I have the color transparent.

I've also been loving my eyelash curler from the brand Missha. It is a korean brand and you might have seen it in my last haul. I like how wide it is because it can really curl ALL my eyelashes at the same time.

I've also discovered some new awesome brushes this month! I used  the Real Techniques Contour Brush as a setting powder brush. I've also been using the fondation brush from the same brand to apply my concealer under my eyes. These brushes are just SO SOFT and good quality. I love them!
